TECHNICALLY, Eden’s fifth birthday celebration began last weekend when Andrea and Grandma Ross came up to visit. Presents were had and Eden nearly blew a blood vessel when she saw that Grandma had gotten her Moon Sand. We’re still vacuuming quite a bit of that out of the carpet.

Last night, Grandma and Grandpa Rensink, Grandpa Ross, Grandma Owie-Knee, as well as Gina, Emma, and Brenna came over. Eden chose a meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy and cheesy cauliflower dinner. Her cake was decorated with Sally, Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars.

Emma did a fair share of helping Eden open her presents, much to Piper’s chagrin. Last night’s seizure-inducing present was a Baby Alive. I’m sure we’ll spend many a night cursing being thankful for that gift.

This birthday is quite a milestone for our little girl. Next year will be the beginning of school at the elementary and I think at five monumental changes start to take place in a child. We’re excited/apprehensive/excited/scared and overjoyed watching her get older each year.
